Position Summary:
At Xede the Business Analyst provides analysis, authoring, editing, interpretation and understanding of business requirements as part of Xede’s professional services team. This analyst will capture and solidify the business (and functional) requirements, create additional documentation as appropriate, create the specifications as requested, participate in application reviews, develop user stories (and/or use cases) or other QA deliverables, train end users and provide other project or program communication documents.

This role’s work entails the gathering, identification and analysis of requirements for building new systems or new versions of existing systems and the production of multiple types of analysis documentation. Additionally the role has light project management and communication responsibilities, as well as some QA and training tasks.

Requirements gathering through interviews and other methods will result in production of business and functional level requirements as requested, user stories (or use cases), process flows, and other documentation as determined for the project. Interactions would be most frequent with project stakeholders across our clients’ companies; those deemed subject matter experts, and the Xede engineering project team(s) as well as client end users. Additionally, this role requires documentation of project outcomes, driving the articulation of requirements and research into post-production support requirements for QA and training purposes. Communication and documentation with and for clients, team members and subject matters experts are a critical component, in particular the creation of supporting documentation that describes the capabilities of the system, user training and other documents as necessary.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to tasks associated with three respective domains: Web applications, cloud centric (Salesforce.com) applications or mobile applications. Specific tasks may include:

  • Working with the department leadership to determine the initial project and or request schedule and resource/role allocation (if and when appropriate);
  • Creation and management of business requirements per Xede standard templates and techniques;
  • Performing day-to-day facilitation of new project development including participating in meetings, generating deliverables and managing relevant communication (internal and external) and otherwise assisting project team members;
  • Collaborating closely with the stakeholders (internal and customer) and technical teams to identify and then document detailed requirements (including process flows, business rules, data sources, user stories and use cases, etc.);
  • Creation of all other documentation as requested by the department director on a project-by-project basis;
  • Ensuring timely feedback, from and to customers;
  • Ensuring timely QA review, to programmers;
  • Ensuring timely communication from and to internal customers – including request and/or status information on a regular and consistent basis;
  • Facilitating client relationships and coordinating work between internal clients, external clients and IT resources (as appropriate and needed);
  • Providing initial training on new systems upon deployment in a form and format to be determined at that time.
